Day 01: Ahmedabad Arrival

On your arrival in Ahmedabad, check in at the hotel. Spend the remaining day at your leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02: Ahmedabad – Bhuj (410km/ 9h)

After having the breakfast, proceed to Bhuj. Arrive and check in at the hotel. The typical desert town located between a hill named Bhujiyo Dungar in the east and Hamirsar Lake in the west. Visit the Aaina Mahal (Palace), which was constructed by Rao Lakhpatji in 1750 AD. The palace is a unique example of Indian-European architecture. Also see the Prag Mahal, designed by famous architect, Colonel Henry Saint Wilkins. It is built in Italian Gothic style and has a large Darbar Hall, big rooms, wide verandahs and a 45-metre high bell tower. The Kutch Museum is the oldest museum in Gujarat. Constructed in Italian style, the museum has a large collection of Kshatrapa inscriptions, archaeological objects, arms and specimens of various crafts of the Kutch region. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 03: Kutch

Wake up in the morning, have the breakfast and be ready to visit Kutch. The sightseeing tour starts with Khavda, a small village where one can see artisans printing and selling items with ajrakh block printing. Ludia village comprises of several hamlets of the Meghwal and Samma communities. In Gandhi nu Gam, the Meghwals live in beautifully painted bhungas or huts. The Kanjari (blouses) worn by women are decorated with colourful patterns. At Hodka, relish a typical Kutchi lunch at Shaame-e-Sarhad Village Resort. The village is famous for its crafts work like decorative mirrors, lamps, hand fans, letter boxes, wall hangings, and exquisite silver jewellery. The artisans sell their goods directly from their artistic huts. Villagers from Banni display their traditional art which involves turning everyday items like clothes and utensils into artistic masterpieces. Return to the hotel in the evening. Stay overnight in Bhuj.

Day 04: Bhuj – Dwarka (400 km/9h)

After having the breakfast, drive to Dwarka and check in to the hotel. Dwarka city was said to have been built by Vishwakarma on Lord Krishna's orders. It was said to have been submerged by the sea later. Marine excavations of the Dwarka coast have revealed important evidence of an ancient city. Visit Dwarkadhish Temple, an important place of pilgrimage for Hindus. Sabha Mandap, a part of the temple, is a 60-pillared hall which houses almost 2500-year-old scriptures. The hall has jharokhas which offer a nice view of the nearby Gomati River. Stay overnight in Dwarka.

Day 05: Dwarka – Somnath (230km/5h)

After having the breakfast, leave for Somnath. Arrive and check in to the hotel. The legendary Somnath Temple contains a jyotirlinga. Destroyed and rebuilt several times, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was instrumental in the construction of the temple that now stands here. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 06: Somnath – Diu – Gir (200km/4h)

After the breakfast, proceed to Diu, a tiny island in the Arabian Sea. Visit the Diu Fort, an imposing structure situated on the coast of the island. It was constructed in the sixteenth century and is blessed with a magnificent view of the sea. After visiting the fort, we visit the St. Paul's Church. This church is adorned with curious volutes and shell-like motifs. Later, see the Diu museum. Diu museum houses wooden carvings, statues, idols, shadow clocks and other important artefacts collected from various sites. Continue on your drive to Sasan Gir. Sasan Gir, or Gir, is the only place other than Africa where one can see lions in the wild. Tourists can enter the forest in safari jeeps. Dinner and overnight stay in Gir.

Day 07: Gir – Junagadh – Rajkot (160km/4h)

In the morning have your breakfast and visit Junagadh on your way to Rajkot. Junagadh is an ancient fortified city and takes its name from the 'Old Fort' which circles the town. Visit Uparkot Fort, famous for its virtual inaccessibility in the past. The Uparkot is girdled by a wall that is over 20 metres high in some places. On the way to Girnar, fourteen rock edicts of the Emperor Ashoka can be seen inscribed on a great boulder. The inscriptions are in the ancient Pali language and date back to 250 BC. On the same rock Sanskrit inscriptions are written. Also see Maqbara, the mausolea of the Nawabs who were the traditional rulers of Junagadh. Once in Rajkot, visit Kaba Gandhi No Delo or Kaba Gandhi's house. Mahatma Gandhi spent the early days of his life here. This will be followed by a visit to Rajkumar College where Gandhi completed his secondary education. Stay overnight in Rajkot.

For Special request (hotel confirmation, meal and seat preference, special assistance, wheel chair request) are subject to airline confirmation and need to reconfirm from agency at least 72 hours prior to the departure.

• We strongly recommend Travel Insurance. The premium is calculated on the number of days you will be away, however it is important that the policy be taken out when the booking is made, to cover any cancellation penalties that may apply from that time. If the insurance is not with us, a charge of $50 will be applicable for any paperwork requested.
